While most of these African football superstars earnings show that they are wealthy, most of them ply their trade either in the English premier league, Bundesliga, La Liga or even in Asia (Chinese Super League) where they receive fat salaries weekly and endorsement deals worth millions of Euros that enable them feature of this rich list.
We shall list top 10 highest paid footballers in Africa for the year 2019 and the salaries they earn weekly while playing for their respective football clubs.

#1. Asamoah Gyan – £300,000 per week
Asamoah Gyan is the highest paid African footballer who earns £300,000 a week after he joined a Chinese club on a two year deal with Shanghai in 2015. He is also the captain of Ghanaian National Team and wears the number 10 jersey.
It was in 2016 that Gyan was considered among the highest paid football player in the world alongside the likes of other football superstars like Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, Neymar and co.
#2. Mohammed Salah – £250,000
Salah is ranked as the best African footballer in the world 2018 and beat the likes of Arsenal and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with fellow team mate and Senegalese player, Sadio Mane to the award.
As of writing this post, Salah made history by scoring 43 goals in all competitions and was the first African to score 30 Premier League goals in a single season, he eclipsed the likes of Van persie, Didier Drogba, Suarez and other top strikers to this landmark.
Mohamed Salah currently plays for Liverpool FC in the EPL and for the Egyptian national team. He earns about £150,000 but is expected to sign a lucrative deal with Liverpool to see him earn £250,000 per week after tax with other endorsements.
This deal will make him the second highest paid African footballer in the world but the most paid in the EPL in a bid to fend off interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona already showing interest in his services.

Luckily, Odion Ighalo who is the current highest paid Nigerian footballer is ranked third on this list as he earns a £190,000 salary in a week. The Nigerian born striker has played in the EPL, but he began his career in Norway.
He plays for Changchun Yatai and also for the Super Eagles (Nigerian football team). He featured in the world cup held in Russia where Nigeria was defeated by Argentina by 2 goals.

The Gabonese professional footballer who plays for Arsenal FC in the EPL is also on the list of highest paid African soccer players as he earns a salary of £180,000 as weekly wages. He played for Borussia Dortmund before he joined Arsenal scoring 10 goals in his first season.

Mane is one of Africa’s most decorated football players having won the award for highest goal scorer in the EPL. He earns a salary of £150,000 per week and is signed as a top striker for Liverpool FC.

Mikel Obi is also among the highest paid footballers in Africa who earns £140,000 a week as salary at his current club, Tianjin TEDA. He is the captain of the Nigerian football team and plays as a midfielder for his club and country.

Iheanacho is another rich Nigerian professional footballer who is among the list of highest paid footballers in Africa. He plays for Premier league club, Leicester City where he is paid £100,000 as weekly wages.
His move from Manchester City after he was deemed surplus to requirement by World class coach, Pep Guardiola saw him earn such amount. He plays as a forward for his club and has scored few goals than in his time in Man city.
#8. Obafemi Martins – £100,000
His full names are Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins. He is another Nigerian to be featured on the list. He is a fast player who played for the Nigerian senior team and won the hearts of many football fans due to the kind of speed he possessed.
Martins played for various clubs both in the EPL, the American league and he now plays as a forward for Shanghai Greenland Shenhua where he earns £100,000 currently.

Fans favorite and Nigerian football star of the world cup, Ahmed Musa is one of rich African football player who earns £60,000 per week.
